Armchair from “Space Age” collection

Description

The armchair commonly known as “The Bat” is an exceptional representative of Polish design, currently very difficult to obtain. It was produced at the East Steel Furniture Factory in Zadziele in the 1960s. Its form refers to the Bauhaus school and has an interesting shape of armrests. The armchair has undergone comprehensive renovation, the metal frame has been powder coated in black matte. The structure has been strengthened and the seat is on springs for greater comfort. The upholstery fabric used is a blue and white plaid with a thick asymmetrical weave, giving an op-art impression. The black armrests correspond with the metal frame, exposing the unique character of the asymmetrical armrests.
